| This National Historic Register Inn is located in the heart of Stowe Village across from the Helen Day Library Art Center on School Street. Available for weekly, monthly & seasonal rental on the Rent-the-Inn option This exceptional quality property is located one block off the main street in a nice quiet residential area, but within a short walk to fine restaurants, the famous Stowe recreation path, antique shops and art galleries. Stowe provides a wealth of recreation including downhill and cross country skiing, ice skating, snowmobiles, and winter hiking. The Stowe Trolley, the winter transportation system, stops steps away from the front door. The 1860 House has five bedrooms and five baths, either king, queen or extra-long twin beds, extra firm mattresses and Vermont-made quilts with matching dust ruffles. Two of the three king beds are on specially made headboards so that the mattresses can be separated as extra-long twin beds when necessary. There are three rooms on the upper level: one queen and one king/twin and one regular king. There are two rooms on the lower ground level:one queen and one king/twin. Plus two rollaway beds. The main level includes a large living room with reading area, TV with VCR, sofa in front of the open fire, stereo with CD and tape deck, a formal dining room and country kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped with microwave, electric stove, dishwasher and placesettings for 20 people. There are two cable connected TVs. Housekeeping is not included but may be added at an extra charge. A Guest Suite with separate entrance is also available to rent individually or as part of the main house. This has a king bed, sofa, cable TV and half bath and can accommodate a roll-away bed for a total occupancy of 15. |
